“We Are a Big Family!” – 30 Years of Activity Among Addicts

On December 17, 2023, we celebrated as a big family the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Reformed Rescue Mission and the Bonus Pastor Foundation. This event also marked the 18th anniversary of the Therapy Centre in Ozd.

The first part of the celebration took place in the Reformed Church in Ozd. Mr. Csaba Levente Czirmay, the leader of the Reformed Protopresbyterate of Mureș, led in prayer during the service and read the proposed passage from Scripture. Dr. József Vilmos Kolumbán, the vicar and general secretary of the Transylvanian Reformed Diocese, preached. Church leaders, laypeople, local leaders, our partner organizations from within Romania and abroad, recovered brothers and their families, and the current residents of the Therapy Centre (who deeply impressed us with their testimony and song) participated in the service of thanksgiving.

The festive event continued with a common meal, songs, and a retrospective of the past 30 years. This portion of the event was held at the Cultural Centre in Ozd. Colleagues, former colleagues, volunteers, former and current leaders, as well as participants in our prevention, therapy, and post-therapy programs, shared what the Bonus Pastor Foundation means to them and the impact of the therapy programs, camps, or conferences. Each story strengthened our team’s conviction that this mission is greatly needed and must be continued! Together, we thanked God for His glory and asked Him to guide and bless us further so that we can follow His path.
