Family Member’s Conference

Although it was only a one-day conference, the number of participants was high. Attendees came not only from Târgu Mureș and its surroundings but also from Cluj-Napoca, Târgu Secuiesc, and Miercurea Ciuc. Many expressed their desire to find peace, emotional renewal, connection and an escape from the hectic pace of everyday life. Their expectations were fulfilled.

The theme addressed was codependency in its multiple facets. This time we analyzed the issue from the perspective of “shared dependency”, meaning the situation where the partner of an addicted person not only suffers due to the other’s addiction but is also caught in the same vicious cycle. We discussed this dynamic alongside addiction, examining how it influences thinking, communication, and behavior. In the group discussions that followed the presentations, participants were able to delve deeper into the topics and apply what they had learned. There were many sincere confessions and many attendants found answers to their questions.

The afternoon session began with praise songs followed by a discussion on intergenerational inheritance, analyzed through a biblical perspective. The conference ended with a feedback circle. The participants’ testimonies confirmed that no one left empty-handed.
