Silage store wall construction, City of Peace team, London

Well its been quite a summer and the teams have achieved a lot, with every team making a fine contribution to the Bonus Pastor operation in Ozd. Although I missed the teams arriving in Ozd in May, I had the pleasure of getting to know and work with some fine people from London, Kampen and Amersfoort in the Netherlands, and Budapest in Hungary, as well as a small team from Pănet in Romania. With their combined efforts we saw the silage bin all but complete, a new fence in the bottom paddock, the barn overhauled and a very good general clean up of the farm. In particular the silage bin will save a lot of wastage from the cow feed, which will directly improve the profitability of the farm. All this was achieved in some very difficult hot and dirty conditions.

I would like to say a special thanks to the team organizers who helped make things run smoothly and effectively managing some big groups and difficult work without any mishaps at all. Well done.

My family and I greatly enjoyed working and being with the teams, with some great football games and BBQ’s had during their time here. A big thank you from my boys Ethan, Jake and Caleb, for the play fights and water fights. Although they ended up being soundly beaten, they promise to get their revenge next year with planning already underway.

We have many plans to improve the operation here in Ozd, and I am enjoying being part of the teams that are making a difference. For those who enjoyed Ozd so much they are keen to come back next summer, I look forward to seeing you all again.

God Bless.
