Two Brothers at the Children's Camp
Egon and Krisztian are twins. They are 11, going
to normal school, joyfull, funny, and intelligent
children who look out for eachother, but still
allowing eachother to live their individual lives.
It doesn’t seem to be a special story so far. But
Egon has a disease which does not allow him to use
his hands. He can hardly walk
and he needs help all the time.
They live with their grandmother since their drunk
father tried to burn down their house. The parents are
now divorced, and the mother works a lot so she is rarely at home.
The story is dramatic but this is not the
reason it is so close to me. These children are beautiful inside.
They go to school, have friends, and try to live a „normal”
life, without complaining. There are two things I am trying
to learn from them: Egon knows how to ask for help and Krisztian knows when to help.
They are the reason we organise these camps together with
other children with different but similarely
difficult life. I see these children as those
who got another chance from God. That is why this camp is
a great responsability. It is also a great honour for me to be a part of this work.
